DTF Printer and Powder Shaker Usage Walkthrough for 600mm directTOFILM DTF Textile Printer
In this video, we show you how to use the 600mm DTF Printing & Powdering Machine Set. This printer and powder shaker combo is fast becoming the most popular machine being used in the printing and sublimation industry. DTF printing has gained popularity in recent years as an alternative to other printing methods like DTG (Direct-to-Garment) or screen printing. It allows for printing on a variety of substrates, including fabrics, ceramics, glass, and more. Join us in watching the video to learn all about the DTF Printer and Powder Shaker for sale at AM.CO.ZA.
We first start off by looking at the bulk ink system, to see how you fill-up the inks, set up the rolls and more. At the top, you find the ink taps for the white, black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, for your CMYK. The white ink is for the white printhead while the black and three colours run the colour printhead. All the ink tanks are run through an application capsule filter with one flow direction to prevent the inks from running back into the tanks.
Filling the inks is really easy, and AM.CO.ZA has stock of inks, which can be bought at our Warehouse or via the Buythis.co.za website. You simply need to remove the cap of the ink bottle and then pour the ink into the tanks in the bulk ink system.
To set up the roll, you need to adjust the left and right stops to fit the roll. The left side should be preset to start just before the roll. After adjusting the roller stops, ensure that the tension is just right.
Now we move to the front of the printer to adjust settings on the control panel. This control panel lets you easily make adjustments to the printer. We use the buttons to adjust the heater settings to ensure that we have the desired temperature for the jobs.
Next, we look at the printheads. We have the CMYK printhead on the left and the white printhead on the right. There are filters that come from the caps to the printheads and these need to be changed from time to time to ensure that the pumps don’t get plugged. The dampers are self-pressuring dampers. These dampers do a great job of controlling the levels of ink inside the dampers and prohibit the flow of ink going back to the tank so that you can have less worry about the dampers running empty. Do keep an eye on the ink levels in your tanks and keep the level uniform.
When starting up the printer for the first time or after a while without use, it is best to run a few cleaning cycles. You can either run this from the control panel of the machine by pushing the clean button otherwise you can run this from your computer using the Hosonsoft printing tool software for DTF printers. In this software, there are many different cleaning options which you can choose from. You can clean one printhead at a time or choose to clean both!
When you are ready to print, open the FLexiPRINT software and import your artwork. Depending on the needs, you may need to add a layer behind your artwork, as seen in the video. When we are ready to print, we open the RIP and Print options, finalize the print options and hit send and then done. Then open the production manager and hit send and the job will begin to print.
As the image is printing, we take a look at the baking unit which is busy with another job. The paper goes through the unit and is covered with DTF powder and then baked. The baking unit has a compartment to store the DTF powder and a second compartment to catch excess powder when refilling the powder tray. The unit also has a control interface and buttons to easily adjust the settings and turn on the different components.
Once our artwork has been through the DTF, we can move to the Heat Press to sublimate the print onto our fabric. The result looks fantastic!
We invite you to bring some material and artwork to give our DTF Printer and Powder Shaker a go at our Warehouse!
